Blue Sage Acres Ranch specialize in breeding very versatile hunting dogs. Our goal is breeding hunting dogs that can hunt multiple types of birds in many different terrains. I like dogs that hunt what I like to hunt-everything! I love to hunt geese over water just as much as I like hunting quail and pheasants in the field. This is why we believe in German Wirehaired Pointers. They have the toughness and intelligence to hunt many birds in versatile terrain at a very high level. We have 240 acres of mixed terrain at our ranch which gives us the luxury to test our dogs abilities. We also do some training with versatile dogs in-special circumstances. Elka has as much desire to hunt as any dog you will find anywhere as seen by her VHDF Advanced Aptitude Evaluation score which is currently the highest in the nation. Hunhaven Chuckar is owned by Chuck Johnson who is a leading trainer and author who has published multiple articles and books on versatile hunting dogs (He is also the Versatile Hunting Dog Editor for Pointing Dog Journal).
