Design Doctor

Design Doctor has became the staple of the Blue Sage Acres Program. Purchased from Jones Stewart Angus, Nebraska-owners of Gambles Hot Rod. We searched the country for a bull that combined the traits we were looking for. When we found Design Doctor it was pretty easy to see we had found the right bull.

He combined a moderate birth weight and excelled in all performance traits but most importantly was his impeccable appearance. Dont let his looks fool you though he was one of the top performers in the Jones Stewart Test gaining over 5.5 pounds per day. His calves have became very well known as they have received many honors at local and regional sales. He sired BSAR

Design Doctor 0910 who was the 2007 grand champion bull at the Gem State Classic Bull sale who sold for $8750 to Hutchings Cattle Co, he followed this honor up by siring BSAR Black Design 6201 who was the 2008 low BW Champion bull selling to Teichert Bros in wyoming for $4500. Design Doctor is a super sound athletic free moving bull.

He adds a super hip, hair and works on many different cow types. What may be the most valuable trait that Design Doctor brings is his power packed maternal background-he has three pathfinder dams stacked up in his pedigree.

A "Design Doctor" daughter produced the Grand Champion Low Birth Weight Bull at the 2009 Gem State Classic bull sale who sold to Julian Cattle Co in Fallon NV. Owned with Adams Acres Angus from Firth, Idaho

Bush's Grand Slam

We purchased Bush's Grand Slam with Mid Contintent Farms, manhattan KS from Bush Angus in Britton SD. He is a full brother to the popular Bush's Cowtown (see pic). This bull tracks back to a tremendous "Papa Power" cow and goes back to VRD on the Sire side. We added Grand Slam to our lineup to add extension through the front end and to stamp that famed "BUSH" look into our cowherd. Look for his Super attractive calves to receive a lot of attention in the future. He is a meatwagon with a puppy dog disposition!!!!

BSAR On Fire 446T

BSAR Onfire was a calf that was a top performer all the way. From the day he hit the ground it was very easy to see his potential. We sold half interest in ON FIRE while he was still on his mother to B&B Livestock, New Meadows ID. On Fire is a natural calf out of Vermilian Alexenia 8446 (Right time X New Trend 315) who has turned out to be a great cow that we moved into our Donor Pen. On Fire is a heavy boned, rugged, bull that is loaded with Depth and Muscle. He is turning out to be a super easy keeper. He came out of breeding cows this last fall in great shape. He has the look of a great breeding bull. Combine the recognition that his Sire Gambles Hot Rod has received on the Tan bark and by the commercial man-on fire could be a lethal combination. Cowboys look out he is your kind!!

JSAR General 765 2MS

This is perhaps the most exciting addition we have made to our Blue Sage Acres bull battery. JSAR General 765 2MS is a direct son of OCC General (pictured here)who tracks back to none other than the popular Stevenson-Basin bred Basin Rainmaker 654X, a bull that was exported to Argentina and used heavily there. The 654X daughters are noted for their fertility, productivity, and outstanding udder quality. OCC General is a brother to OCC Anchor 771A. JSAR General 765 2MS' mother is a gorgeous EXT daughter that tracks back to the prolific Finks Vixon 765 cow family.

"GENERAL" had an eye popping IMF scan ratio of 145 in a group of 138 of his peers and does this with none of your typical carcass sires in his pedigree (no 036, no 1680) There are no better outcross sires today that can successfully accomplish as many of these traits in one package as General can. His calves are continuing to scan exceptionally well and are the calves that will catch your attention in the pasture.

Keep an eye out for General Calves as they will become popular very fast!!!!
